The Company’s past and present

PASO is a family business - it was established in 1920 in Poznan by the grandfather of the current CEO - Izydor Sobaszkiewicz. He played a key role in the guild of leatherworkers and saddlers and soon became its president. The workshop, which was located in the very centre of the city on Zeyland Street, developed dynamically.

After Izydor’s death, his son, Eugeniusz, took over the reins. In the post war period he embarked on a tough battle with the Socialist system to ensure the survival of the firm. Together with his wife, Danuta, he ran a small workshop on Dobra Street. The energetic entrepreneur produced bags, handbags, purses and belts, which he distributed throughout Poland and exported via the Zgoda Co-operative.

The present CEO is the third generation of the Sobaszkiewicz family to join the business, which he did after obtaining his master’s degree from Poznan Technical University in 1983. Paweł has created a large-scale enterprise which is well-known in Poland under the name PASO.

PASO currently enjoys the position of being one of the major distributors in the Polish market of school supplies and children’s luggage, bags, rucksacks, suitcases, wallets and of anything and everything you can pack your things into.

PASO celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2008.
